I have a lovely set of Fred Morrison smallpipes which I play all the time. However I would like to be able to play a high B and would like a high B key fitted. Does anyone know of any pipemakers who would be prepared to fit the extra key on my chanter even though its not one of their own chanters?

Gordon Mooney fixed a high B key to the old Hardie chanter he used on his first BP. So, it can be done, but I can only guess how he did it.

Most makers won't work on another maker's instrument. You might be ahead of the game just ordering a chanter with a high b key from one of the many fine makers in operation today.
