In a thread about transposing pipe music the term "6 - finger note" was used where the poster wanted 'it' to read as the note g.
A response pointed out that "... on Border pipes the 6-finger note really is concert pitch A ..."
I'm more than a little confused (nowt new there:P ), none of the notes fall to the 6th finger except the low A and then only if one counts down from the reed end
What does the term 6-finger note refer to please?
Is it possible to have a "Jargon Buster" as a 'sticky' please?
