For UK members with a TV licence, Episode 3 of An Ribheid Chiuil/Reed Music is on BBC iPlayer now, and it's all about Northumbrian and Scottish bellows piping.

Thanks for that; just watched it - noticeable for the total absence of any lowland music though ...
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing, they say

It's been a good series so far, apparantly episode 4 will feature Irish based piping, from pipebands to Uilleann pipes.

Loved the comment of the guy from Diamh, that when he got a set of smallpipes he was no longer just a piper but a 'musician'.

I'm looking forward to the feature on the Irish, they can really play. FMM have created some of the best pipe band harmonies ever in my opinion and Terry Tully and SLOT kick some butt when arranging trad Irish tunes for the pipes. As for the Uillean pipes I can only curse my bad luck at being born beyond their reach at the time in my life where learning them might have actually rewarded my efforts a little. So it goes, role on the next episode.

The 'guy in Daimh' was Angus MacKenzie. Angus is going to be one of the tutors at the teaching weekend in Bridge of Allan.
George.
