Lowland Amusement is one piper's contribution to the furtherance of the music of the Scottish lowland and border regions.
It's very much work in progress, aimed at promoting a genre of music that has been pretty much ignored since it was swept under the tartan blanket in the late 18th century but has undergone something of a renovation in the last few years.
I'll be adding recordings of the repertoire I'm exploring and talking about the music and why I try to play it the way I do. Alongside this I hope to explore the nature fo the music, its origins, its affinities and its particular characteristics.
