Peebles, February 19th - 21st

This year’s teaching weekend was held in a new venue (though a familiar one, since we have now held two collogues there) The Tontine Hotel in Peebles hosted one of the workshop sessions, and the other two were held in rooms on the High Street, which, had it not been drizzling rain throughout the weekend, would have been an ideal way for participants to experience some of this delightful Borders town.
All three tutors were new to the event too; Alana MacInnes, David Shedden and Callum Armstrong. Alana and David introduced particpants to several fine new tunes - including a Gaelic hymn from Alan and Allan MacDonald’s arrangement  as  3/2 march of an 18th century Lowland song. Callum brought something rather different, an introduction to the mysteries of improvisation, which proved an eye-opener to many participants.

David Shedden and one of the groups play through a tune in a meditation room.
One wonders how long the vibe hoverd for.
